About the Opportunity – Key Responsibilities
In the Marketing Assistant role you will be responsible for helping to drive sales at the firm by managing and supporting a range of marketing projects. We develop intellectual capital and the Marketing Assistant helps to gain exposure for that work.
Our lead consultant leads presentations, workshops and training sessions and a key function of the Marketing Assistant is finding and scheduling presentations and workshops. This vital role includes research and initial contact, developing relationships at key venues, handling logistics for presentations as well as marketing efforts as needed to help generate awareness and attendance at these presentations.
There will be broad exposure across the marketing spectrum with a tremendous opportunity to contribute to a growing management consulting firm. This is a roll-up-your-sleeves-and-get-it-done position and a great opportunity to learn many aspects of management and marketing consulting.
Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Developing and maintaining database of contacts at speaking venues
- Contacting speaking venues via phone and discovering speaking/presentation/seminar opportunities
- Correspondence to clients and prospects
- Evaluating opportunities for speaking/seminars/workshops
- Setup and coordinate meetings, speaking engagements/seminars/workshops
- Coordination of development of marketing pieces for print and Web
- Preparation of sales proposals from information gathered in fact finder
- Coordinating production of marketing and presentation/workshop materials
- Working with outside vendors (e.g., design, print, web consultants)
- Handling e-mail communications with customers and speaking venues
- Managing regular updates to our web site
- Managing organization and delivery of design and creative assets
- Providing detailed summary reports of sales and marketing activity and schedules
- Generally supporting the marketing and sales team on various projects and day-to-day tasks
About You
We’re looking for a highly-motivated, smart and conscientious person who is passionate about marketing, consulting, innovation and learning. Specific areas of our practice include management consulting, exit strategy, marketing strategy and web marketing and you will be able to discuss our services with clients and answer questions related to our expertise, experience and services.
You need to be great on the phone, curious and attentive to customer needs. You have excellent listening skills and are creative enough to ask the right questions and dig for potential opportunities which match our services.
You have excellent project management skills with a real attention to detail and a sense of ownership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3+ years relevant work experience – background in consulting or marketing a plus
- Outstanding interpersonal skills
- Customer-service orientation
- Excellent writing skills required
- Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
Compensation
This is a part time (independent contractor) position to start. You will be paid an hourly rate depending on experience and qualifications, plus commission/bonus for performance.
