Methodology

Our primary goal at Endorphin Advisors is to help our clients achieve their desired results as quickly as possible.  Our approach to (and proposed services and budget for) each project are built around that objective and take into account the circumstances of each individual situation.  Are we being called upon to provide a specific service on a project?  Or, is there a need for more in-depth assistance and guidance to meet your goals?

Every situation is different and we focus on your specific needs and challenges.  We ask questions, dig into issues and listen to your responses.  We listen first, then propose appropriate recommendations for action.

In any case, we have developed a methodology which provides a basic framework of a potentially useful approach.  It does not apply to all situations, but has worked for several clients.  We include an outline of this methodology to illustrate an approach used recently.  It might be appropriate for your situation, too.

Methodology Outline

Interview:  We conduct an exploratory interview which proceeds through a series of questions designed to uncover information on specific, critical aspects of your business.  We want to discover and illuminate your goals, challenges and market opportunities.  What keeps you up and night?  Where do you want to take your business?

Set Goals:  From our interview, we help define specific, realistic, measurable goals.  Each goal includes a corresponding deadline to instill a sense of urgency to achieving each goal.  A sense of urgency – a need for speed! – improves motivation and focus.  Plus, results are satisfying, and that is what we are looking to achieve.

Strategy & Tactics:  How are we going to get there from here?  Are we trying to improve sales?  Cut expenses?  Increase margins?  Launch a new company, product or service?  Build a strategic partnership?  Decrease the amount of time we spend on our business, so we can spend our time doing the things we really want to do?  We help think through and define strategy and tactics to achieve your goals, and provide tools to help you reach your destination.

Performance Metrics:  To help measure progress toward these goals, we assemble a basket of performance metrics – milestones to help chart progress toward these objectives.  We commonly use 4-5 relevant, critical performance metrics, and then monitor these while keeping deadlines in sight.  We develop and deliver an easy-to-read management scorecard so you can easily monitor your performance and progress.  It is also important to ensure that accurate, up-to-date data is available to populate these metrics, and so we do make sure that systems are in place to collect the data used to measure a company’s progress.
